About

Founded in 2015, Campsite Media House is a full-service production company with offices in Orange County, CA. In less than five years, the company has worked with a multitude of brands, including such clients as Herbalife, Red Bull, KIA, Mountain Dew, Herman Miller, Cremo and Johnson & Johnson. Campsite was founded by three passionate storytellers coming from three unique backgrounds: Marcus Vadas, from advertising, Dave Paine from network TV and Logan Hendricks from the film/documentary world. From creating :30 broadcast spots to long-form doc- style pieces for social media, these three distinct experiences have integrated to create stories that can successfully engage an audience and also speak to its brand. But what really sets apart Campsite from other producers in the commercial realm is an emphasis on storytelling: our body of work as content creators is defined by a commitment to character and the stories that make these people compelling.

The genesis for Campsite began when the company’s founders met at a production facility in Newport Beach where they all worked together; one day, they sat in a room with a white board and listed the core values that were most important to them in production. They discovered that the common thread on all of their lists was storytelling.

“I thought about the different situations and places where people hear or tell stories,” says Campsite’s Executive Producer and co-founder Marcus Vadas of the company’s origins. “Among the places we listed, campsite was one that I thought evoked an image of people sitting around a fire sharing stories.”

Whether a segment for Shatterproof tackling a mother dealing with her son’s addiction or a Herbalife spot where Gold Cup champion Jonathan dos Santos shares the advice his father told him when he was a child, the company’s creative mandate is to tell personal stories for brands that connect to people. In other words, Campsite’s content crafts stories that are less about the brand itself and more about what the brand stands for — in terms of how the brand wants to impact their audience.

From directors, producers and cinematographers to editors, animators and sound designers, Campsite has cultivated relationships with talent in all areas of production and leverages these relationships to assemble the best creative teams for each project. “First and foremost, we like to make sure we surround ourselves with great people,” says Executive Producer and co-founder Dave Paine. “We take our past experiences in our different fields and combine those efforts together so we can be a rich, comprehensive voice for the brands we work with.” Paine’s decade- long tenure at the action sports network Fuel TV for instance has positioned Campsite to reveal the more intimate details when it comes to telling stories about athletes; this personal approach is evident in Campsite’s work with such athletes as Heather Jackson, Jonathan dos Santos and Gyasi Bardes. The spot Campsite produced for KIA’s 2019 Golf Classic was featured by BestAdsOnTV as one of the best commercials of the week. A ten-year tribute to the women who have competed in the KIA Classic, its star Jaye Marie Green, who recently had a career-best tie for fifth in the U.S. Women’s Open, had this to say of her experience working with our creative team: “Not only was the team at Campsite really fun to work with, but in the end, they produced a really beautiful piece that everyone involved, especially me, was very proud of.”

Campsite’s Sound of Passion long-form piece for MagnaFlow starring racing legend Mario Andretti has attracted critical acclaim from top motorsports outlets, including Racer Magazine and BangShift, which hailed it as a “miniature masterpiece.” “We always wanted this to be more than an ad,” says director and Campsite co-founder Logan Hendricks. “With my background in documentary filmmaking, I saw this as an opportunity to create a small portrait of a man who fully explored his passion and remained committed to it for his entire life.” Notably, the Sound of Passion spot was one of 100 commercials shortlisted on this year’s Emmy nominating ballot for Outstanding Commercial and Hendricks was admitted into the prestigious Television Academy as a commercial director on the strength of his work.

Campsite’s partnership of three also brings an extensive network together at the client’s disposal for any given project. “Today’s lean budgets can be challenging for many other production companies,” says Paine. “But because of who we are and because of who we work with, we know how accommodate our client’s budgets no matter the size and still yield an awesome product that you can see in the strength of the content we produce. Campsite is versatile, adaptive and ready to go.”

Team

Dave Paine

Executive Producer | Founder

Everybody loves action sports, but Campsite’s Dave Paine literally is action sports. Shortly after graduating from the University of Pittsburgh, Dave moved to the West Coast and was soon directing, producing and editing action sports projects. His talent soon attracted the attention of the Fox Sports Network and he was hired to help launch FUEL TV, the Fox action sports channel. Tasked with creating original content on a global scale, Dave worked with some of the world’s most elite athletes and produced a body of work that included documentaries, events, specials, studio shows and a docu-series. Since co-founding Campsite, Dave has expanded his talents into all phases of the company. Dave’s dedication to his craft is summed up by this quote from CJ Olivares, CEO, Street League: “Dave constantly pushes the level of his productions higher and higher while always staying under budget.”

Marcus Vadas

Executive Producer | Founder

Art director, producer, stand-up comedian, TV show host. If those job descriptions don’t conform to your image of a successful production executive, maybe that’s because you’ve never met one quite like Marcus. With over 15 years of experience creating and producing award-winning commercials, videos and documentaries, Marcus brings a wide range of skills to his role as Executive Producer of Campsite Media House. Simply put: whatever needs to be done to meet and exceed the needs of Campsite’s clients, Marcus is on it. From the first meeting until the final product is approved and out the door, Marcus pays full attention to every aspect of the job. He takes pride in his ability to work with clients in a wide range of industries and with budgets of all sizes. Marcus can handle whatever gets thrown at him which is not surprising for a guy who regularly stands up in front of unruly comedy club audiences! It’s that quality which helps take the stress out of production for his team and his clients.

Logan Hendricks

Creative Director | Founder

Logan Hendricks is one of those directors with the rare ability to master whatever style is most suitable for the project. He has worked as a director, writer, editor, and camera operator on numerous documentaries, films and television shows with a variety of networks including ABC, FOX, CBS, BBC, ESPN, The Discovery Channel and Red Bull. Logan has won awards for his work in commercials and films and his most recent feature-length documentary “Love at a Certain Age” garnered national attention and has collected numerous awards. Nicole Lana

Editor

Nicole Lana was born and raised in Queens, New York. She spent five years in Manhattan as an assistant editor at multiple post production houses, learning the tricks of the trade in the grinding world of advertising. In early 2018 Nicole fulfilled a bucket list dream and finally made it out to the west coast. If she’s not cutting the latest Campsite spot you can find her relaxing at the beach or front row at a concert.
